Oren Sebag
Registered Nurse and CEO of AVVY based in Montreal, Quebec

“The outpouring of people who not only want to work for Avvy not only as what we call a technician health-care professional, thousands and thousands of people have already downloaded the app, thousands of calls already done through the application… a great phenomenon happened where we’ve integrated into employer programs as well, where employers want their employees to have Avvy as part of a health-care privilege and benefit that they have to offer their employees,” – Oren Sebag

Oren Sebag is a registered nurse and the CEO of Avvy, who has over 20 years of industry experience spanning clinical operations project management, business development and patient access. Oen has previously held senior roles leading business development teams at inVentiv Health, Celerion, and AltaSciences in Early Clinical Development. Oren has a passion for revolutionizing and innovating the Canadian Healthcare System, and the Universal Radio Network’s very own Sapreet Buttar had the opportunity to sit down with Oren to discuss Avvy as an application, what it’s about and how it’s used, the services that are provided by the application and much more in this episode.

At the beginning of their discussion, Sapreet and Oren discuss his background and his start with the app known as Avvy (1:15), why Avvy is likened to Uber (3:19), how the app is being received overall in Montreal (5:12), the convenience of use with Avvy as an application (6:38), and whether doctors are able to treat the results and information from Avvy like they would with any other traditional method (7:46). Next Oren shares what other services Avvy offers (8:44), whether Avvy was created to provide benefits for people or to help provide the actual medical attention some may require (9:44), how nurses can become associated with Avvy (11:27), and when people can start to expect for the Avvy app to expand across Canada and come to the west (14:19). Oren then talks about if Avvy will have extended services beyond the 10 that is currently offered on the app (16:45), which demographic age-group is mainly involved with Avvy (18:40), if there is any process in place in order to flag a particular case that needs urgent attention with Avvy (20:46), and finally, how listeners can stay up to date with Avvy (22:07).
