“I think for many years feminism has gotten the bad PR and kind of stigma that it’s very anti-men and it’s very anti-everything, and I think what happens when the pendulum goes too negative at one point will come back at center, where women are equal to men – nobody needs to be above or below, nobody needs to fight anyone, it’s about a world where men respect women and women respect men equally,” – Diipa Büller-Khosla
Diipa Büller-Khosla is a Content Creator, Entrepreneur, Founder of Indē Wild, and the non-profit organization Post For Change. An Indian fashion and beauty influencer, Diipa has graced multiple magazine covers including Vogue Magazine, Elle India, and UK’s largest bridal magazine, Conde Nast Brides. The Universal Radio Network’s very own Sapreet Buttar had the chance to connect with Diipa to discuss her beginnings as an influencer and content creator, her thoughts on South Asian representation, and much more in this special International Women’s Day programming.
At the start of their conversation, Diipa talks about the key lessons she learned at the beginning of her content creator and entrepreneurial journey (1:38), what her key support systems were (5:32), how this year’s theme for International Women’s Day resonated with her (7:22), and if Indē Wild has launched in Canada (10:01). Next Diipa shares her thoughts on whether there is currently enough South Asian representation in mainstream social media (13:06), what spaces she would like to see more female South Asian representation in (15:19), and how women can empower one another (16:32). Finally, Diipa shares what she would personally describe what it means to be a feminist (18:44), and who her biggest female role-model is (20:12).
