“I’m not a people pleaser, I never started this journey for fans or followers… I’m just fortunate I have that, and I’m honestly very, very grateful as well for that because I paint because I’m passionate about it, what has come with it with all these wonderful people that are following my artwork is just a sense of my fortune, and I’m very happy and I have a lot of gratitude for it,” – Inkquisitive
Amandeep Singh, also known as Inkquisitive, is a London-based illustrator and artist. With multiple beautiful artworks that each tell its own narrative, Inkquisitive has also worked with multiple artists and collaborated with the likes of Netflix, Disney and Marvel Studios. The Universal Radio Network’s very own Sapreet Buttar had the chance to sit down with Inquisitive in Edmonton at the Puzzle Pieces event to discuss his inspiration in his artwork, his feelings creating certain pieces, and much more in this interview.
At the beginning of their sitdown, Inkquisitive and Sapreet discuss Inkquisitive initial inspiration into making art (2:38), whether he feels vulnerable or hesitant whenever he showcases his artwork to the world (4:14), what motivates him to keep on going when his art pieces are not received the way he intends them to be (6:08), if the saying “art is never finished, only abandon; when the spirit does not work with the hand, there is no art,” resonates with him (7:03), and which family piece he connects with the most (8:14). Inkquisitive then details what changed with the color usage in his art after 2019 (8:35), what his dream collaboration is (10:12), what people can expect from puzzle pieces (11:34), and what message Inkquisitve has for citizens of the city of champions (12:55).
